supportLinksupportLink Australia manages grant funded programs. These programs are bold and have developed into excellent front line community services. In particular, our work in the area of trauma support sees us attend all suicides and motor vehicle fatalities in the ACT in conjunction with Police and Ambulance services. Our role is to deliver immediate and proactive assistance to witnesses and families affected by the incident. In most cases supportLink staff assist Police with death messages and assist families around body identification of their loved one. Our assistance may continue throughout the coronial process and include connecting families to services and/or programs that can provide ongoing support. Our philosophy is based on respecting people and the uniqueness of their issue. No two people are the same, no two issues are identical. Our values are based on honesty and hard work to achieve real benefits for individuals and families. There are no big shots in supportLink just big hearts and willing hands! The eReferral Management Service is a fully managed package that not only includes secure transfer of referral information (the System), but also includes the full management of referral outcomes. The research, development and ongoing technical, clinical and relationship support of all stakeholders is a key component to our Service. In addition a fully managed service offers reduced risk of poor outcomes for the referring agencies, eg. Police, Clients, Support Agencies & Government. Quality controls include both technical and social work responses to referrals as required. Our belief is that an eReferral System is only part of the solution and must be supported by a determined community development model to enhance inter-agency collaboration and reliable outcomes for referred clients. Our endeavours with the supportLink eReferral Service is to expand across Australia and beyond. We know of its great value to ordinary people who may be facing extraordinary issues and to Police and Community Services who desire to work together but lack the tools to achieve this. |
